At Basilic Fly Studio, we believe that knowledge shared is creativity multiplied. True growth happens when learning and experience collide to exchange ideas, inspire innovation, and spark new possibilities. This philosophy continues to guide our mission of mentoring the next generation of creative professionals in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) industry.
As part of this ongoing effort, the Basilic Fly Studio team recently had the privilege of conducting an engaging and insightful session for the students of Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Design, Pune.
The interactive workshop was led by Mr. Zameer Hussain, Chief Operating Officer & Global EVP at Basilic Fly Studio, and Mr. Sudhakar Bhavanasi, HR Manager at Basilic Fly Studio. Their session offered students an in-depth perspective on the ever-evolving landscape of visual effects production, from concept design and compositing to CGI integration, lighting, match-move, and digital post-production workflows that define today’s global VFX pipelines.
Drawing from their extensive experience in managing large-scale international film and OTT projects, both speakers walked the students through the creative and technical processes that power modern visual storytelling. From pre-production planning and 3D modeling to rotoscopy, motion capture, and virtual production using Unreal Engine, the discussion illuminated how art, technology, and collaboration come together to transform imagination into cinematic reality.
The students remained deeply engaged by asking questions, sharing insights, and gaining a clearer understanding of what it takes to thrive in a professional studio environment. The session provided a valuable bridge between academic learning and industry application, inspiring aspiring artists to explore careers across compositing, 3D animation, FX simulation, digital painting, and pipeline management.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Dr. Milind Dhobley, PhD, Director, and Dr. Siddhantkumar Vasantrao Wadmare, Vice-Dean of Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Design, for their unwavering encouragement and support in making this initiative possible. Their leadership continues to create an ecosystem where design, art, and technology education thrive together.
“I was truly amazed by the infrastructure and the inspiring environment at Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Design when I first stepped inside. The campus radiates creativity, from its thoughtfully designed classrooms to its state-of-the-art labs and collaborative spaces that clearly encourage innovation and imagination. ” as Zameer quoted
We would also like to convey our sincere appreciation to the faculty members whose dedication made this workshop a success:
