As we continue to expand our capabilities across global visual effects, animation, and technology-driven production workflows, we are delighted to welcome Ajit S Nair to Basilic Fly Studio as our CG Supervisor.
With over 18 years of experience in the animation and VFX industry, Ajit brings a strong background in leading creative and technical teams, managing large-scale visual effects productions, and building efficient CG workflows. His journey reflects a deep understanding of both the artistic and technical sides of visual storytelling, making him a valuable addition to our growing studio.
Throughout his career, Ajit has worked across multiple areas of the CG and animation pipeline, including supervision, previs, real-time workflows, production planning, team leadership, and creative execution. His expertise spans tools and technologies such as Blender, Unreal Engine, Maya, motion capture systems, and open-source platforms, allowing him to bring both flexibility and innovation into modern production environments.
Ajit’s professional journey includes significant experience at Red Chillies VFX, where he served as CG Supervisor and contributed to major Bollywood feature films. His work includes supervision and production involvement across projects such as Jawan, Dunki, Chandu Champion, Dashavatar, Yodha, Pathaan, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, and Sikandar. Several of these projects have also been recognized with industry awards, including honors for Best VFX and creative excellence.
One of the standout aspects of Ajit’s career is his contribution to real-time and future-ready workflows. He has developed previs workflows using Unreal Engine, worked with motion capture and facial capture systems, and integrated emerging technologies into production pipelines. His experience also includes being one of the early adopters of generative AI in production for the special show Dashavatar, reflecting his ability to adapt to evolving creative technologies.
Beyond supervision, Ajit has also demonstrated strong leadership in building and mentoring creative teams. His experience includes leading cross-functional departments, mentoring artists, streamlining workflows, managing schedules, coordinating client deliverables, and ensuring that creative quality remains consistent across high-volume production environments.
Ajit has also directed and produced Naughty 5, a full-length animated feature created using only open-source software such as Blender, GIMP, and Ubuntu. This achievement highlights not only his technical resourcefulness but also his passion for pushing creative boundaries through accessible and innovative tools.
As CG Supervisor at Basilic Fly Studio, Ajit will play an important role in strengthening our CG department, guiding teams, supporting complex production requirements, and contributing to the studio’s larger vision of delivering high-quality visual effects for films, television, and streaming content.
