Basilic Fly Studio, one of the growing VFX companies in India with a global footprint, recently had the opportunity to be part of BRIDGE Summit 2025 in Abu Dhabi, a new international platform bringing together leaders from film, TV, OTT, gaming, music, technology, and the creator ecosystem. Hosted at ADNEC from 8–10 December, the summit became a meeting point for conversations on where the media and entertainment industry is headed and how technology is quietly but decisively reshaping the way stories are made and experienced by audiences around the world.
Basilic Fly Studio was represented by a core leadership and production delegation: Balakrishnan R (CEO & Managing Director), Yogalakshmi Sundaram (Whole Time Director & President), Zameer Hussain (Chief Operating Officer & Global Executive Vice President), Shyam Sundar (VFX Producer), and Santhosh B (VFX Line Producer). Across three days, the team engaged in meetings with notable people, industry veterans, and key connects from different parts of the world, discussing everything from long-term partnerships and service collaborations to the evolving expectations of global content platforms. These interactions were about building relationships, understanding where the industry is moving, and exploring how Basilic Fly Studio can contribute more meaningfully to that journey as part of the wider network of VFX companies around the world.
The summit gave our team a closer look at how quickly technology is moving at the intersection of media and entertainment. Sessions, demos, and informal discussions opened up conversations around real-time rendering, virtual production stages, cloud-based workflows, AI-assisted tools, and data-driven production planning. For a studio deeply rooted in visual effects, and competing alongside top VFX companies in India and abroad, it was a reminder that the future pipeline is not just about adding more tools, but about integrating them thoughtfully so that artists can focus on creativity while technology quietly handles the heavy lifting in the background.
From a VFX point of view, the key learning was how these emerging technologies are already influencing every stage of production. Real-time tools are changing the way directors visualise scenes on set. Virtual production is bringing pre-production, shoot, and post much closer together. AI and automation are starting to support tasks in asset creation, tracking, and quality control, helping teams move faster without compromising on detail. Cloud workflows are making it easier to collaborate across borders, something that aligns closely with Basilic Fly Studio’s India–Europe delivery model and its role in connecting VFX companies around the world with filmmakers, studios, and streaming platforms.
At the same time, the summit reinforced a belief that has always been central to Basilic Fly Studio: technology is powerful only when it serves the artist and the story. The discussions at BRIDGE brought that balance into focus. The takeaway for our team was to continue investing in tools and infrastructure, while equally investing in people – building skills, encouraging experimentation, and giving artists the space to adapt to new ways of working. The future of VFX will belong to teams that are comfortable switching between traditional craftsmanship and advanced, tech-enabled workflows, something increasingly expected from leading VFX companies in India and other global hubs.
Overall, BRIDGE Summit 2025 was both an affirmation and an inspiration. It affirmed Basilic Fly Studio’s position as a reliable, future-ready VFX partner in the global content ecosystem, and it inspired us to think more boldly about how we can use technology to support filmmakers, streamers, and creators in telling ambitious stories. As the conversations from Abu Dhabi continue beyond the summit halls, our focus will be on translating these insights into stronger collaborations, smarter pipelines, and even more impactful work on screen, reinforcing our commitment to stand alongside top VFX companies in India and VFX studios around the world in shaping the future of visual storytelling.
